TORI-KI TOKYO - CENTRAL PARK

I love yakitori and I had a recommendation for a yakitori place in Jakarta. It was called Tori-ki Tokyo. They opened the first outlet at Central Park Mall (opposite llao llao) on April 28, 2017 and so here I am!

Away from Japan, this restaurant has adjusted itself to the Indonesian culture and preference. While in Japan Yakitori is usually sold in a small izakaya place, accompanied by sake or beer, here they replaced them with regular family friendly drinks, adequate dining space and further more they also provided set menus with rice to satisfy the Indonesian customer needs to have rice on their meals. But they also still deeply rooted to their original recipes.

Tori-ki Tokyo is the first authentic Japanese Yakitori with automatic grilling machine in Indonesia and they also use authentic traditional tare sauce.

Their concept is open kitchen, from the first time we come here, we can immediately see the grilled machine and then we can see the process start from the give spice, grilled until finally finished.

You can sit around the bar, where the skewers are grilled, and small cold dishes prepared. Despite the cleanliness, and beautiful decor, the atmosphere here is lively and relaxed.

Price per item ranging from 8K - 20K.

Some regular menus :

  • Chicken Karaage (12K)

  • Chicken Thigh Paha (10K)

  • Chicken Fillet Dada (12K)

  • Chicken Balls (12K)

  • Quail Eggs (9K)

  • Pork Bacon with Enoki (20K)

  • Mini Hasbrown (8K)

  • Green Pepper Chicken (10K)

  • Toronto Pork (15K)

  • Pork Belly (15K)

Set Menu (39K) :

  • 1 Chicken

  • 1 Tontoro Pork

  • 1 Chicken Skin/Quail Eggs

  • Japanese Rice with seaweed and pickles

Food-wise, there is not much to complain about here. The various parts of chicken and pork are cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and juicily seasoned. With the use of tare sauce that tasted sweet and tasty, making all yakitori here more delicious.

To finish off, rice topped with seaweed, pickles, chicken and the pork was perfect. The meat was juicy, packed with flavour, subtly marked by the grilling, and contrasted nicely with the rice. This is comfort food done the Japanese way.

All of the food was executed really well. I enjoyed the flavors of everything. My favorite here is Crispy Chicken Skin, Chicken Skin, and Pork Bacon with Enoki.

Ok, I'm done blogging about this Toriki Tokyo Yakitori because I'm getting very hungry now looking at it again. If you are in Central Park Mall definitely hit this one up as its the newest and super yummy. Just look for this red Toriki Tokyo sign and pop in!
