YAKITORI BOX - GANDARIA CITY MALL

Talking about culinary at Gandaria City Mall can be very confusing, because of the many restaurants to choose from and so many different style of cuisine. But this one place is worth to try, Yakitori Box! From the name it's obvious this place brings the theme of Japan. They served a typical Japanese satay as its flagship.

Yakitori Box is a one of the concept from Sour Sally. The first in Indonesia, The Best & No 1 Singapore - style Bento Japanese Yakitori using Lava Stone Griller and Automatic Griller. This restaurant serve no pork and no lard.

Ready to try japan specialty satay with the secret of delicacy that began from fresh meal, ALWAYS FRESH NEVER FROZEN! The sensation of juicy meat inside and crisp on the outside. Eaten with special homemade KIETSU SAUCE sweet flavor, savory on a bowl of 100% Japanese rice, JAPONICA RICE that's chewy and sweet.

On June 9, 2017 (one day before their grand opening) I was invited and had the chance to try this Yakitori Box. Upon arriving, I could easily spot this restaurant because of it's bright yellow colour on their sign and decoration. The atmosphere immediately felt like Japan with many mural art with funny words. This place was divided into two areas, inside and outside area.

The concept of the restaurant itself is self service with open kitchen. So consumers come to order their food directly at the counter by choosing yakitori already available in the display case.

Not just yakitori ala carte, they also had some bento options. There were four types of bento here with different contents in each bento.

I tried the Premium Bento D which consists of 1 Salmon, 1 Chicken Ball, 1 Tofu Skin Roll, 1 Chicken Thigh Crispy Garlic, 1 Rice and it included free ocha. Premium Bento D priced is 53K and if you guys want to switch Salmon with Unagi, you just add 10K only.

This was highly recommended so I decided to give it a try. I super like their salmon. The salmon was cooked beautifully without any fishy feeling or smell, and lightly seasoned, that's probably why you should come here and try this menu! They put the kietsu sauce in each table so we can use it as much as we want.

This is also a premium bento D, with the salmon replaced with unagi. The unagi was very soft and the sauce was very absorbed into the unagi. The chicken balls were grilled nicely, the chicken meat texture was firm and it had a really nice fragrant and sweet taste.

There are several Yakitori ala carte that are highly recommended here : Chicken Thigh Crispy Garlic, Chicken Balls, Chicken Tsukune, Salmon, Unagi and Skin Enoki.

Chicken Skin Yakitori is my favorite food here! Chewy chicken skin texture tasted even more savory because of the kietsu sauce that I used. When bitten a savory flavor arised slowly along with the aromatic smokey aroma of the grill. And for the first time I saw chicken skin of this size :D

So that's all my friends, my review of this first Yakitori Box. Hopefully you have time to try and hopefully Yakitori Box could quickly make a new branch again. Enjoy your meal! If you're a fan of Japanese food, Yakitori Box can be your next culinary destination!
