There is another new restaurant in Jakarta that I recommend for you to try, especially for you who are big fans of Japanese dishes. Momozen, Restaurant in The Plaza on 46th floor presents a unique dish with a blend of Japanese food flavors using French cooking techniques. So the dish came to the table with a sophisticated look.


Thankyou Nibble for hosting a gathering so I had the opportunity to try dishes in this restaurant is quite innovative and unique dish. Curious?
Black Truffle Somen with Caviar (80K)

Chilled Japanese Somen, Truffle Kombu, Caviar
Somen, Japanese delicate noodles (a texture similar to angel hair pasta) is served with a strong truffle flavor. The truffle scent is strong and the Chef skillfully made the somen soft and delicate when eaten. The French technique beautifies the dish here. The presentation is very precise. If you see the same order on the table next to you, surely the shape will be exactly the same.
Hokkaido Hotate 'Carpaccio' (160K)

Japanese Scallops, Kiwi, Kyuri, Umami Ponzu, Mango Chilli
Served on long plates, this dish consists of Japanese Scallops, Kiwi, Kyuri, Umami Ponzu, Mango Chilli. What surprisingly wonderful is this sliced scallops are drizzled with umami ponzu, a typical Japanese dressing that blends the sweet, sour and salty flavour. Not disappointed!
To-morokoshi Potage (80K)

Creamy Corn Soup, Charred CauliFlower Bits, Nori Podwer

Creamy Corn Soup, Charred CauliFlower Bits, Nori Podwer
The sweetness of sweet corn paired with a slightly charred cauliflower slightly drowned the full cream. Well done, Chef!
Yuba Frog (80K)

Minutes Marinated Fresh Frog Leg, Black Mayonnaise, Garlic Puree, Spinach Coulis
Like to eat frogs? Or, want to try a frog without being distracted by the real "frog" image? French technique is used to make the menu Yuba Frog so not scary, it even tastes very good! Like eating chicken drumstick. Well, it's more crunchy, of course.
Truffle Donabe Gohan (320K)

Rice Cooked in Japanese Claypot (Served in 30 minutes) Signature Fresh Truffle Rice
We arrive at the main menu of Momozen, and this is their mainstay. Japanese rice is only cooked when the menu is ordered, very unique and different because the rice is not cooked using ordinary water but with Dashi Japan - which has a complex flavor and cooked directly in Japanese claypot.
Baby Chic Truffle Rice (300K)

Charcoal Grilled Whole Baby Chicken Stuffed with Truffle Butter Rice (Served in 40 minutes)
This is a signature dish here. The chicken feels very "sophisticated" because it is filled with truffle rice, and is served on charcoal grilled. Enjoy the heat and taste the truffles while you chew them. Special!
Talk about the price, surprisingly - after seeing the beautiful menu and location - the price here is still affordable for you really. You still find a nice menu, instagramable, and it tastes great.
Momozen operates daily at lunchtime, from 12.00 - 15.00 WIB and reopen to serve dinner at 18.00 - 22.30 WIB. While enjoying all these special dishes, look around and enjoy the skyline of Jakarta, Let's try!
